Arrivals

We can cater for up to four cats in the same pen, providing they are from the same household. All cats will be given a health check upon arrival and any found to be suffering from infectious or contagious diseases will not be accepted, including others from the same household.

Departures

Cats must be collected no later than 18:00 Summertime and 17:00 during Wintertime, unless otherwise agreed with Matthews Cat Mews. Cats collected after this time will be charged at the full daily rate. Cats collected before 10:30am on departure day will not be charged. Cats collected any time after this will be charged at the full daily rate.

Innoculations

We require a full, up to date vaccination certificate for each cat, confirming that it has been innoculated against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Cat Flu. Each certificate must remain with us until the end of the boarding period. Cats must be vaccinated at least four weeks before arrival at Matthews Cat Mews.

Illness

We will do our utmost to ensure that your cat or cats have a happy and healthy time while they are boarding with us. However should any cat be deemed to be ill, it will be taken to our local vet. Our insurance will cover illness incurred while the cat is boarding with us, but will preclude pre-existing conditions.

Any prescription diets, diabetes injections or medications etc bought in with the cat will be administered during the cat's stay at no extra cost. All prescription diets and medicines must be bought in with the cat.

Feeding

Each cat is fed twice daily, unless otherwise specified and/or according to owners preferences. We provide top quality foods, whether tinned, frozen or dry. Biscuits and other extras will be given if instructed by the owner. We provide fresh water every day, although milk will also be given to the cats if requested.

Personal Belongings

We will provide adequate bedding for each cat as it comes to stay, but owners can bring their own cat's bedding, scratching posts or toys, if they prefer. Litter trays will be provided with a range of litter from gravel and fullers earth to wood pellet and biodegradable paper.

General Conditions

Each boarder is charged for by the day. We will not accept any un-neutered male cat over the age of six months. However we will accept any unspayed female cats of any age. We offer a reduced rate for cats from the same household sharing a compartment. We will also groom your cat should you request and we also recommend that a flea preventative treatment is applied to each cat prior to coming to board with us. We can normally provide a local cat pick up and drop off service on request, normally at no extra cost.

Home Visits

We are fully insured to enter customers homes whilst providing a visiting service for clients who wish for their cats to remain at home. We normally visit the cat or cats twice a day or to the requirements of the owner. Cats are not insured on our insurance policy, however should they be taken ill, we will take them to their own vet, wherever possible at the owners cost. Customers are required to supply their own food and we will also take your cats veterinary details on our arrival in case of emergencies.

Pet Identification Scheme

Matthews Cat Mews now offers a registered Pet Log Micro Chipping service to our customers. Our chips are 11.5mm in length, 2.12mm in diameter and are made from bio-compatible glass. This provides yourpet with safe and permanent identification. This will only be administered if your pet is fit and healthy. If your pet appears to be unwell, we may refuse to carry out the procedure, which is quick and painless. Please phone us for further details and costs.
